These Terms and Conditions describe the basis on which Heritline provides its document organisation visits and heritage workshop programmes. By booking or attending any Heritline session, you accept these terms. Please read them at your own pace before confirming a booking.
1. About our services
Heritline offers three services:
- Family Records Visit — a companion visit to help a household lay out personal records into labelled folders and a printed index (RM 530).
- Heritage Reference Workshop — a workshop helping families build a printed reference binder of where heritage materials are held (RM 1,250).
- Heritage Records Programme — a multi-session programme covering inventory, labelling, scanning checklists, and a printed heritage handbook (RM 4,400).
All Heritline services are educational and organisational in character. We provide document sorting, labelling, indexing, and reference design. We do not offer legal advice, financial advice, or opinions on the contents, validity, or implications of any document. Participants who require legal or financial guidance are encouraged to engage qualified advisers separately.
2. Bookings and confirmations
A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date and received payment of the session fee in full or as otherwise arranged in writing. We will send a confirmation note to the contact address or email you provide. Please check the details and let us know promptly if any correction is needed.
3. Fees and payment
Fees are as stated at the time of booking and are denominated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). We accept payment by bank transfer or such other methods as we make available from time to time. Fees are to be settled before or on the day of the first session unless a written arrangement is in place.
For the Heritage Records Programme, we may agree a structured payment schedule at the time of booking. Any such arrangement will be confirmed in writing.
4. Rescheduling and cancellations
We understand that household schedules can change. If you need to reschedule, please let us know as early as possible and we will do our best to find a suitable alternative date at no extra charge. Cancellations notified more than five working days before a session will receive a full refund. Cancellations with shorter notice may incur a partial holding fee to cover preparation work already completed. We will always try to be reasonable and to discuss any particular circumstances with you.
In the rare event that Heritline needs to cancel or reschedule, we will give you as much notice as possible and offer a full reschedule or refund.
5. What we ask of participants
Our sessions work best when participants are present and engaged. For home visits, a quiet space to work and access to the relevant folders and storage areas helps the session run smoothly. For the workshop and programme formats, we ask that all participating family members try to attend the agreed sessions so that the reference materials we produce together are as complete as possible.
We ask that you do not share Heritline's proprietary workshop templates, agenda guides, or printed materials with third parties for commercial use. They are prepared for personal household reference.
6. Our materials
Printed indexes, binder templates, scanning checklists, and agenda templates that Heritline produces are provided for the personal use of your household. The underlying designs and formats remain the intellectual property of Heritline. You are welcome to use and adapt them for your own family's reference purposes.
7. Limitation of liability
Heritline is a document organisation and heritage workshop provider. We are not responsible for outcomes that arise from decisions made on the basis of your household documents. Our sessions are informational and organisational only. We do not verify the legal standing, accuracy, or completeness of any document and do not accept responsibility for any loss arising from reliance on materials we have helped organise or index.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, personal injury arising from negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
8. Privacy
We handle personal information carefully and in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of the agreement between us.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through direct discussion will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
